Branding your widget.
Make the widget feel like part of your school’s site, not a third-party intruder.
All branding is in the portal: Settings → Widget appearance.
Logo
PNG or SVG. Ideally with a transparent background. Up to ~200KB. We resize automatically. Used in the chat header next to your school name.
Accent colour
Hex code or visual picker. Used for the chat bubble button (the floating button that opens the widget), the send button, and links inside answers. Pick something that contrasts well with white text.
School name
Pre-filled from GIAS. Shown in the chat header so parents know they’re talking to your assistant.
Greeting message
What the assistant says when a visitor opens the chat. Keep it warm and short. Default: “Hi! I’m the School Assistant. How can I help?”
Placeholder text
The grey text inside the input box, e.g. “Ask about uniform, term dates or absence…”.
Fallback contact
If the assistant can’t answer, what does it offer the visitor? You can show a button to email your office (default), a button to fill in a callback form, or both.
Widget position
The widget sits in the bottom-right corner of every page that carries the snippet, and flips automatically for right-to-left languages. To show it only on certain pages, add the snippet to those pages rather than your site-wide footer.
Saving
Changes apply as soon as you save - visitors on your site see them immediately, no cache wait.
